A terrarium workshop for kids! Join us for some hands-on creative time on a school day off and take home a miniature living world in glass.
We'll make tiny terrariums with your kids' choice of little plants, crystals or rocks, moss, and teeny branches. Choose from a tiny dinosaur, dragon, bigfoot, or other critter to add to your terrarium. By mindfully composing these elements your kiddo will create a miniature landscape to enjoy.
Grown-ups are welcome to drop off or buy a ticket to make a terrarium of their own. Due to limited seating in our workshop area, there may not be room at the workshop table for grown-ups without a ticket, but you are welcome to wander the shop or relax on the sofa.
Age Recommendation: Recommended for ages 8 and up due to fine motor skills needed and tall seating, but by all means, use your judgment for your kiddos under 8. Children should be able to work independently, without the supervision of their adult. Our workshop features seating on bar height stools without backs at bar height work tables, so may not be suitable for all ages. Why do we have multiple pricing options?
Community workshops are for you, our community! We offer a limited number of tickets for most workshops at a reduced rate. Please choose the price that best honors where you’re at. If you are able to pay at the suggested level or higher, it helps keep our workshops on a sliding scale for those who can contribute at a different scale.
Policies:
No refunds are available for workshop registration.
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to a friend. To do this, please email info@rootedchicago.com with the subject line “Ticket Transfer: [Name of Workshop]” using the same email address that was provided at registration. Include the full name & email address of the person who you would like to transfer your ticket to. We’ll take it from there!
If you provide 7 days' notice and we are able to fill your spot, we may be able to issue a credit toward a future workshop.
In the event a class is cancelled or rescheduled due to inclement weather, increases in local Covid cases, changes to local Covid guidance, positive Covid cases on our staff, or other Act of God, you will receive a credit to take another class at a later date (in-person or virtual).
