Life and death meet in a hauntingly beautiful mini ecosystem in glass. Students will compose living and dead elements in a glass terrarium to bring home, care for, and observe as it evolves. This workshop is not for the faint of heart. We'll be creating mossy, woodsy terrariums featuring a real antlers and creepy crawlies (springtails and isopods, specifically). Just in time for spooky season!
We provide all materials and the instruction, and you leave with a nature-inspired, bioactive terrarium, approximately 10" x 10" in size, with live moss and plants. You'll also take home the knowledge of how to make and maintain a terrarium.

Why do we have multiple pricing options?
Community workshops are for you, our community! We offer a limited number of tickets for most workshops at a reduced rate. Please choose the price that best honors where you’re at. If you are able to pay at the suggested level or higher, it helps keep our workshops on a sliding scale for those who can contribute at a different scale.
Policies:
No refunds are available for workshop registration.
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to a friend. To do this, please email info@rootedchicago.com with the subject line “Ticket Transfer: [Name of Workshop]” using the same email address that was provided at registration. Include the full name & email address of the person who you would like to transfer your ticket to. We’ll take it from there!
If you provide 7 days' notice and we are able to fill your spot, we may be able to issue a credit toward a future workshop.
In the event a class is cancelled or rescheduled due to inclement weather, increases in local Covid cases, changes to local Covid guidance, positive Covid cases on our staff, or other Act of God, you will receive a credit to take another class at a later date (in-person or virtual).
