Floral Donation Workshop — Give Flowers a Second Life
📅 Saturday, June 7 | 🕤 9:30–11:00am | 📍 At Rooted Living
We believe in the power of flowers — not just to beautify a space, but to brighten someone’s day.
Join us on Saturday morning for a special Floral Donation Workshop, where we’ll rework event flowers from a private fundraiser into smaller arrangements to deliver to a local assisted living facility.
We’ll kick things off with a brief floral design lesson, then spend time creating beautiful, thoughtful pieces together. No floral experience is necessary — just bring your love for community and creativity.
Details:
🌼 Saturday, June 7
🌼 9:30–11:00am
🌼 $20 registration
— You’ll receive a $20 store credit to use that day or you can choose to donate it toward the costs of the workshop.
This is a lovely way to start your weekend, give back, and learn a bit about sustainable floral design in the process. Spots are limited, so we recommend signing up in advance!
A little backstory:
Before opening Rooted Living, I spent years as a wedding and event florist. I stepped away from that work after the pandemic — with one meaningful exception. Each year, I design flowers for a longtime client I love, and their annual fundraiser is happening this Friday. Here are some of the flowers we're working with!
🌸 One of the ways I wove sustainability into my floral design practice was through a program I created called ReBloom. After our events, we would repurpose the flowers into smaller arrangements and deliver them to nursing homes, hospices, or anywhere a little beauty might brighten someone’s day. Community members would join us to volunteer their time, learn a bit of floral design, and help spread joy.
Witnessing the smiles and connection these flowers bring — especially to residents of assisted living facilities — is always unforgettable. It remains one of my favorite ways to extend the life, and the meaning, of every bloom.
