Tariffs and Rooted Living

Welp, tariffs have officially made their way to Rooted Living, and that means you’ll start to see some changes in our prices. Earlier this week, I placed an order to restock plant pots and for the first time a 10% tariff surcharge appeared at checkout. Unfortunately, we’re not in a position to absorb those costs, so the current administration's tariff policies will be reflected in the price of pots and planters moving forward.

For now, this is the main area where you’ll notice an increase. I continue to buy from local makers as much as possible, but many local makers rely on raw materials produced abroad. For example, a candle maker may source vessels from China, and since that’s a major part of their production cost, it could eventually affect their pricing too. At the moment, I haven’t seen much movement in other product categories—but that may change over time if these tariffs remain in effect.

The new shipment of pots should arrive in the next week or two. If you’ve been eyeing something from our current stock, now is the best time—these are the lowest prices you’ll see for a while.
