Grow Your Own: Houseplant Propagation Workshop

If you’ve ever admired a friend’s thriving pothos or wished your favorite plant could magically multiply, you’re in good company. Propagation might seem like a bit of plant magic, but once you learn a few simple techniques, it becomes a deeply satisfying (and addictive!) part of caring for houseplants.
On Sunday, November 9, we’re gathering for a cozy morning at Rooted Living to explore the art and science of houseplant propagation. You’ll learn how to take cuttings, root them in water, moss, or soil, and set them up for success, all while enjoying the company of fellow plant lovers who understand the joy of watching new leaves unfurl.
During this hands-on workshop, we’ll cover a variety of methods, from stem cuttings and leaf cuttings to petiole propagation, and talk about how to tell when your new plants are ready to be transferred to soil. You’ll get plenty of practice, ask questions, and head home with several new baby plants to nurture and grow.
The shop will be filled with that earthy, green scent of fresh cuttings and damp soil, with tools laid out, mugs of tea nearby, and a gentle hum of conversation as we snip, pot, and share stories about our favorite plants. It’s the perfect way to spend a November morning: slow, mindful, and full of growth.
No experience needed, just bring your curiosity and a love for green things. 🌿
